About me
Christine Gallagher is the Regional Geodetic Advisor Branch chief, working out of the NOAA campus in Seattle, Washington. Prior to this role managing our regional geodetic advisors stationed across the country, Christine served in various NGS positions including the Communication and Outreach Branch Chief and Constituent Resource Manager. These roles all aimed to improve our communication with stakeholders and our understanding of their geospatial requirements, as they relate to NGS products and services. She previously coordinated NGS programs focused on using accurate elevation information for various applications including mapping, charting and flood risk determination. She is currently coordinating nation-wide engagement efforts to prepare for the modernized National Spatial Reference System. Christine has also completed term-assignments in leadership positions at different NOAA offices and fellowships at the Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Water, the National Park Service in Colorado, and as a legislative assistant in the U.S. House of Representatives. Prior to her 15+ years at NOAA’s National Geodetic Survey, Christine earned a Masters Degree in Engineering and Public Policy at the University of Maryland after completing her undergraduate degrees at the University of Pittsburgh.
